Stepping Stones: How Do You Look At Women?

Stepping Stones: How Do You Look At Women?

Transformational Tip
The headline in the news read “Miss America”. The article described how beautiful she was. It even gave her measurements. The measure of success by which the world rates women is their looks. Just look at the glamour magazines. We seem to learn nothing of people’s hearts. No talk of their honesty, faith, convictions or even if they know the Love of God. Sadly, the world teaches young women, all women that they are measured by what they look like. What do you value in others?…yourself? Do you get your confidence (or lack of) from your looks or some other material item? Value what God values and be confident because of who HE is and what He will do in and for you.

Prayer
Father God, I pray for all the women [including myself] that get caught up in this hype of beauty, fame and fortune. I don’t want the world’s measure of success. I desire the things of the heart like love, wisdom and spirituality. Even older women are bombarded with looking younger. We see advertisements of facelifts and plastic surgery everyday. Help me to grow old gracefully. I repent of any thoughts of outside beauty. I do know beauty comes from the inside and somehow I let my own thoughts go to the outside. I want my values to measure up to You Father and not the world. I am Yours. I ask this in Jesus Name. Amen.

The Truth
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
Proverbs 31:30
Finally brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute and if anything is worthy of praise, let your mind dwell on these things.
Phil 4:8
