Because many authors are using scientific information to contribute to the subject of parenting, we need to ask: How does the Bible compete with science?

Science Supports the Bible

There are a lot of presuppositions in life. The Christian and the Secularist have different starting points to presuppose what truth is.

For the Christian, it becomes the Bible. For many Secularists, it is scientific evidence.

Science breaks down facts into mechanical bits of data; while belief in God requires faith.

It is like the difference between an auto mechanic knowing the mechanical workings of a car, and a driver that simply sits in the driver seat, turns the key and drives without knowing how the car functions.

Surprisingly, the more the sciences advance, the more we are able to see that science is actually proving the Bible’s claims to be true.

Over Prescribed Medication

One result of science that does effect our kids is the prescription of psychotropic medications.

We believe there is a place for meds. However, based on our experience with families at Shepherds Hill Academy, we see that medications can be grossly over prescribed.

For instance, in 2013 the SHA medication report reveals that we were able to successfully remove or reduce the dosage of 78% of the students enrolled on a medication regiment!

We are firm believers that given enough time; proper outside stimuli like God’s word, His love, truth, training, nurturing, and discipline can create chemical changes in the brain without medications.

These chemical changes manifest in positive behavior and attitude changes.
