A big area of controversy in the church is “Can psychiatric medications help Christians?”
So many people are afraid of psych meds, even thinking that taking them is a sin or psychoheresy. The Bible says our goal should be to glorify God as much as possible, period. It doesn’t say as much as possible, but without medications. Psychological struggles have spiritual, psychological, and a biological components and all three spheres need help. I’ve never seen a psychiatric medication cure anyone, but thankfully, God’s given us medicines that lessen some of the suffering while we learn the psychological and spiritual skills necessary to lastingly renew our minds, and glorify God the way He intended.
