Title: Psychiatrist vs. Psychologist

INTRODUCTION:
Welcome to Life Change with Christian Psychiatrist

BODY:
Our helpline often gets calls asking, “What is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist?”
Both are highly trained doctors providing Mental Health and Addiction services. A psychiatrist, however, is a medical doctor, thus able to rule out possible medical issues, order blood tests, EEG’s and brain scans, perform full psychiatric evaluations, and prescribe medications. Meanwhile, a psychologist is a PhD, not medically trained, but able to provide psychological evaluations. And psychologists are trained to perform and score a special battery of tests called psychological testing. Because of the medical training, a psychiatrist comes at a higher cost, but he or she is the most thorough place to start your path to wellness.
