Transformational Tip
When you want to know what is going on in a school system, you go to the authority… the one who’s in charge of the programs and devise the policies. You don’t go to the third graders, get their reports and take them as the all encompassing views and truths of what is going on. We also don’t let them determine the strategies and methods to educate our society. The media is like the third graders in both understanding and authority. The media relentlessly proclaim bad news for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This steady diet of their fare can sicken you. Instead of focusing on their fickle, ever-changing bad-news broadcasts, tune into the living Word – the one who is always the same. He is the authority, all-knowing one we need to pursue for explanations, comfort, and wisdom.
Turn the tube off early tonight and pick up your Bible. Let the Holy Scripture saturate your mind and heart…this will help you walk steadily, step by step along the path of life. Even though you do not know what will happen tomorrow, you can be absolutely sure He is walking side by side with you and of your ultimate destination.
Prayer
Dear Father God,
I am full of fear today. I am in the midst of another storm. I turn to Your Word and I find assurance. I pray that the assurance which comes from Your Word soak into my mind and heart until I overflow with Your Joy, not my fleshly fear. I know that peace is Your continual gift to me; thank You Lord. I know that You have designed me to need You moment by moment. It is when I take my eyes off You that fear and anxiety creep into my life. I approach Your throne of grace with confidence and trust and ask for Your peace. AMEN
