Mother Teresa of Calcutta was a powerful woman, not because of her station in life, but because of her conviction. She recognized the greatest resource we have to offer others is our own life surrendered to Christ. When resources came together, she and her order ministered to the needy. When resources didn’t come, she and her order ministered to the needy. To Mother Teresa, t made no difference; God’s work in human lives didn’t depend on capital campaigns but on love and sacrifice. In God’s economy, this is what stands out. Let us pray for the kind of courage it takes to walk in faith before we see the resources; to count on God’s provision before we see its channels. Let us be courageous enough to love sacrificially, giving of the resource we all possess—our very lives—to bless others. —DH
