God’s Manner of Speaking to Us

A Simple Path
How do we hear God’s voice? This is a common question; a conundrum, really, as God speaks to us in and through innumerable means—His word, prayer, the teachings of the church, the counsel of Godly friends, in ministry opportunities, that nudge, hunch, inclination … why even through a donkey or a burning bush if that’s what’s called for! Our practice, as Christ followers, ought to be looking for His voice in all situations, listening for His lead in all circumstances, and growing in our recognition of His voice above the cacophony of noise all about us. Our plea ought to be “lead on O King eternal” as we navigate the way before us, with hearts tender to receive His word. —DH
