In All Things, Serve the Lord
“Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your master since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.” (Col. 3:23-24)

Colossians 3:23-24 instructs us to approach every task, no matter how mundane, with the same dedication and diligence as if they were serving God directly, not just their earthly employer, because their true reward comes from God and not from human masters; essentially, reminding them that their ultimate loyalty lies with Christ in everything they do. The passage encourages a shift in our perspective, where work is not merely done to please a human authority but to please God, which should naturally lead to a higher quality of work ethic. If we apply this motivation (and rightly so) to our relationships, our commitments, our passions, life will follow—”seek ‘ye first the Kingdom … and all these things shall be added unto you.” May this devotional thought bless you today in whatever stands before you to tackle! —DH
